IP Office: IP Office user can not dial International numbers.

Customer can't dial international calls starting with 011 + #.  PRI provider is claiming the IP Office is sending the wrong number plan.  

 

Problem Clarification

IP Office international calls disconnected by the PRI provider with ISDN cause code 88

Cause

THe PRI provider disconnected the call with cause 88.

88 58 Incompatible Destination.


The number being dialed is not capable of the type of call.
1. Calling a restricted line in unrestricted mode.
2. Calling a POTS phone using unrestricted mode.
Indicates that the equipment sending this cause has received a request to establish a call which has low layer compatibility, high layer compatibility, or other compatibility attributes which cannot be accommodated.

The PRI provider was connected and the Switch Type was set to "5ESS" and not "NI2".

Solution

The IP Office Pri Line was changed to 5ESS protocol to match the setting with the Service Provider.

1. Open the IP Office configuration using the IP Office manager.
2. Click on the Line tab from the Configuration Tree.
3. Click on the PRI line.
4. CLick on the Switch Type.
5. Change it from "NI2" to "5ESS" and click "OK".
6. Send the configuration back to the IP Office with an Immediate Send.
