Problem Clarification

EMC Can not sent email to SMTP server.

customer tried to restart the email media store service but couldn't resolve the issue.

SMTP test is ok. user name/password is correct.

POP3 services in the same exchange server works fine.

Cause

customer's IT team changed the Domain for the SMTP user.
so this User do not have permisson to send out email.

SMTP traces trace shows login correct but this user do not have permisson to send out the email accroding to the response from the SMTP server.

Solution

cutomer checked their Aduit log, find the domain name for the SMTP user is changed.

After change the user's domain back.

issue got resolved.
