CMS: All version that support NFS

Problem Clarification

Customer was using Windows NFS server for CMS backups. When tried to restore the CMS server after system crash, it failed. Customer want to know why is it not supported?
Another scenario: NFS mounts fine, but when trying to write to it via a backup, it says "permission denied."

Cause

Windows backup is not tested by Avaya PH, so it not supported.

Solution

The backups and restore of CMS application is only designed and tested on Solaris and Linux based Network File System servers, hence we do not recommend to use the Windows based NFS. If customer wants to use the Windows based NFS, they can use it but we cannot guarantee the accuracy, as the same has not been tested.

However, if customer wants to get this into consideration, they can contact their Avaya Account Manager, propose a business case and raise a GRIP request. This request will be sent to the R&D team for consideration and if approved, then the same can be added in the latest releases of CMS.
