This was a new installation of remote MG G450 and S8300 as LSP with FW36.14 of MG and SP6.3.7, MG was working fine and in operation however in the "show mg list" the S8300 was seen in Initializing state.

Post upgrade of G450 to firmware 36.23.1 S8300D went into initializing state

Problem Clarification

MG G450 working fine and in operation but S8300 in state Initializing.

When we revert to older firmware S8300D server works fine

CASE 1: S8300D server stuck in initializing state, re-seating did not fix the issue.

Cause

Since this was a new installation the MG was not recognizing the S8300 because this was not initially administered, technician on site was not able to set the initial administration. The “Initializing” state was still showing up because the DVD external drive being used was damaged and S8300 could not be administered, but once they get a good external drive the S8300 was well administered and then S8300 board recognized by the MG

Possible BUG in firmware 36.23.1

CASE 1: Faulty S8300D board.

Solution

Use a functional DVD rom external drive and set the initial administration in the S8300 so it can be recognized by the MG in normal state.

Upgraded G450 to firmware 36.25.1, resolved the issue

CASE 1: Replaced the S8300D board fixed the issue.
