Problem Clarification

AES: HA failover fails with error when configuring with error on screen:

Failover configuration failed for IP: (remote cdom IP). Message: Unexpected error: cmd=sudo -u tomcat /opt/avaya/vsp/ha/scripts/installkeys.sh /tmp/pk secondary where=rem-cdom (remote cdom IP) out= err=sudo: unknown user: tomcat exit status=1

From CLI, look in local cdom /var/log.vsp/vsp-all.log:

INFO  [com.avaya.vsp.webconsole.failover.HaCommandExecutorImpl] Non-zero return while executing the command '/opt/avaya/ha/scripts/habackend.py createcluster -c (remote cdom IP here) -u 'admin' -i 'avpublic' -x 'eth3' -p 'local'' against 'dom0.vsp'
 stderr: Unexpected error: cmd=sudo -u tomcat /opt/avaya/vsp/ha/scripts/installkeys.sh /tmp/pk secondary
where=rem-cdom (remote cdom IP here)

Cause

double-check and verify remote cdom IP

access the remote cdom IP and verify it is correct, usually the dom0 and cdom IP are incorrectly swapped, causing this issue.

Solution

insure proper IP's when configuring HA failover.
