Problem Clarification

A remote media-gateway, G450, intermittently reboots.

Cause

Probable network interruption between the main server and the MG21/ G450 or a hardware issue with MG21. The log files on CM, /var/log/ecs/date.log, show a loss of heartbeat between the main server and the media-gateway, but this would require a book-end network sniff to determine the exact cause of the issue.

Solution

  1. Replace the hardware.
  2. Run a book-end network sniff, to determine exact what is going on exactly.
  3. Further steps dependent on A) & B).
