CM: No audio between sites

Details

No station to station audio between remote site and main site. Remote site is using a G430 gateway.

Using model 9608 IP phones.

Problem Clarification

Customer wants remote gateways to talk with the gateways at the main site. They see that the remote gateway is communicating directly with the endpoint at the main site.

Cause

Customer had firewall rules that blocked the remote gateways from communicating with the phones at the main site directly. They did this for security reasons.

Solution

Removed the firewall rules as the call will only use the media gateway that initiates the call. The gateway will then communicate with the endpoint directly. All the phones register to the same place (procr) so there is no need for the gateways to talk gateway to gateway. This may work they way they wanted in a port network configuration but not in a procr/G430 setup.
