CMS: Historical report data missing on CMS R18

Details

Customer found data missing when running historical reports  for daily on CMS supervisor.

Interval Report  was present..

There is also no data when running report on CMS server side for daily.

Problem Clarification

Below messages are found in elog

We also see backup progress have kept on running for several days, which was started from 05/26.

Cause

The backup progress got stuck which prevented daily archiver from normally executing, the main cause is customer is using a USB HD for daily backup but it can not be read, thus when the backup started from timetable, the progress reported error and got stuck. In this case daily archiver could not be started, so there is no historical daily data in the database for those days.

Solution

Umount / mount the USB disk to resolve the USB HD issue, then manually killed backup progress. Using  ps -ef | grep backup to find the process ID

Do manual data summarizing to archive the daily data in database, then we could get the reports on those days.
