BM12 Button Module

Problem Clarification

Customer is installing new BM12 Button Module on a existing 9408 Phones that have never used a expansion module.

When adding the BM12 Button Module and using the left or right page selection if there is anything programmed on those buttons it will activate without choosing a button. All other feature buttons are missing.

When scroll to page 1, button 12 will activate
When scroll to page 2, button 18 will activate

Cause

Software Issue caused when using out-of-date 9408 firmware from 2011 and brand new BM12 Button Module Firmware from 2016

The 9408 phones were at the original Firmware from 2011 and never updated.

BM12 Button Modules are brand new out of the box

Solution

Recommendation to update to latest Firmware SP 7 (R18) released Oct 2016 or higher

Issue was resolved after updating to the latest firmware.

**NOTE** 9400 Digital Phone Firmware does not have to be governed by JITC Compliance. JITC Compliance applies with IP Phones that are connected to the customer LAN
