Problem Clarification

On trying to login to vCenter getting the Alert "Cannot to  connect to vCenter single sign-on server https:// vCenter IP:7444/sts/STSService/vsphere.local"

 

Cause

vSphere Client Service has either Crashed or not -responding.
unable to connect to vCenter single sign-on server https://(ip-address):7444/sts/stsservice/vsphere.local

Solution

For this case it was only necessary to restart the VMware vSphere web client.

podfx-vcenter:~ # service vsphere-client restart
Stopping VMware vSphere Web Client...
Waiting for VMware vSphere Web Client to exit...
Stopped VMware vSphere Web Client.
Starting VMware vSphere Web Client...
Intializing registration provider...
Getting SSL certificates for https://vCenter:7444/lookupservice/sdk
Service with name 'vsphere-client-podfx-vCenter.wb-c-pod1.twp.woodbridge.nj.us-d72d0443-5b15-47f2-9425-0f385b6e8525' and ID 'local:c1ed9e12-cce9-41b3-814f-99ba0bf82808' was updated.
Return code is: Success
Waiting for VMware vSphere Web Client......
running: PID:9532
 
After a few minutes web access should be accessible.
