Problem Clarification

 

 

2420 Firmware download fails with error:

 

File Status: TFTP error: TFTP server unreachable

 

display tftp-server                                                           

 

                            TFTP Server Configuration

 

 

       Local Node Name: procr    

 TFTP Server Node Name: tftp          

      TFTP Server Port: 69  

      File to Retrieve: 2420_R6.bin                   

 

           File Status: TFTP error: TFTP server unreachable

 

           File Size: 0

    Filename in Memory: 2420_R6.bin                   

 

          Station Type: 2420

 

 

Cause


 

Two issues were found:

 

1. customer had via node-name tftp server as the procr IP address.   CM 6.3 must use a TFTP Server such as Utility Server or TFTP Server software for example http://www.tftp-server.com

 

 

2.   File was not in the correct directory on the Utility Server = /tftpboot

 

Solution


 

Recommendation:

 

1.  Change node-names tftp server to Utility Server or another TFTP Server

 TFTP Server Node Name: tftp    <-- Utility Server or another TFTP Server  

 

2.   On the Utility Services move file to /tftpboot

 

[root@AvayaUS tftpboot]# ls -ltr

total 80

-rw-r--r-- 1 init susers 77011 May 22 15:36 2420_R6.bin

    

 

Once the file is in the /tftpboot on the Utility Server go back to the CM and try again --   change tftp-server

 

display tftp-server

TFTP Server Node Name: tftpserver   <-----    Utility Server  IP

      TFTP Server Port: 69

      File to Retrieve: 2420_R6.bin

 

           File Status: File download successful

             File Size: 77011

    Filename in Memory: 2420_R6.bin

 

          Station Type: 2420
