Type of feature
Alarm administration is a base feature.
About the alarm administration feature
The alarm administration feature provides the ability to connect with the Avaya IR platform from a local console or a remote location to administer alarm functions and manage the events and thresholds that comprise the system status.
Users can view, add, change, and delete a table which contains events, event thresholds, and actions that occur when event thresholds are reached. Administrators can add, change, and delete user privileges.
Hardware requirements
The alarm administration feature requires the U.S. Robotics Sportster 33.6 External faxmodem that is provided with the Avaya IR platform, or Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) that is supported over serial connections.
Software requirements
The alarm administration feature requires the Maintenance package (AVmaint), installed as part of the base software.
Using this feature
Administer alarms using the Alarm Administration screens in Web Administration or the dalarm command.
