Add a new language

Overview

The real-time software provides the following languages that you can select from the Add Languages list in the Language Administration Web page:

Although the Internet session software provides a number of languages to choose from, the language you want to use may not be on the list. If the language that you want to use does not appear on the list, then you must add it.

Add a new language to the list

To add a new language to the list, do the following:

  1. Open the languages.cfg file located in the icm\admin\ folder.

  2. Edit the languages.cfg file by adding the following:

    {language name=language code}

    For example, Dutch=nl

    The languages.cfg file lists the languages that you are using in alphabetical order. For quick reference, you may want to keep this order when adding new languages to the file.

    For information about language and country codes, use the following URLs:

    • http://www.ics.uci.edu/pub/ietf/http/related/iso639.txt

    • http://www.chemie.fu-berlin.de/diverse/doc/ISO_3166.html

  3. Save and close the languages.cfg file.

  4. Stop and then restart the servlet engine (JRun or Tomcat) service.

  5. Display the Language Administration Web page.

    Result:

    The new language appears in the Add Languages list.

  6. Select the new language for use. See Select a language to use with your system for instructions.
