Run the post-installation procedures
Overview
The following is a summary of the post installation procedures:
Administer IIS.
Administer the message database access username and password.
Configure the message system.
Administer the message system.
Restart the message system.
Administer IIS
Open the IIS 4.0 console from the Start button, select Programs->Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack->Microsoft Internet Information Server->Internet Service Manager.
Right-click on the Default Web Site and select Start.
The following new virtual directories that were just created appear:
mccsript
mcadmin
msgcare
Edit the properties for the virtual directories. Start with mcscript by right-clicking the mcscript virtual directory. Select Properties from the menu display.
Result:
The mcscript Properties dialog box appears.
In the Application Settings frame, click the Create to define an application starting point option.
Result:
The Applications Settings frame changes to allow you to enter text in the Name text box. The Create button is now Remove, and the Configuration button can now be selected.
Enter mcscript in the Name text box. Select the Apply button.
Repeat Steps 1�3 for the mcadmin and mcreport virtual directories.
Administer the message database access username and password
The user name and password should be identical to the one used to create the SQL databases.
Open the URL http://{MC_server_name}/msgcare/mcsetlogin.asp to administer this.
Enter the user name and password and select Submit.
Change SQL login/password
Important!
If you need to change the SQL login/password information, then the messaging application must be shut down during an idle system period.
To change the SQL login/password, do the following:
Gracefully shut down the messaging software and the Maintenance Monitor as described in the procedures for Perform a graceful shutdown.
Change the SQL login/password used by the messaging application using the SQL Enterprise Manager.
Using the following Message Care web page: http://{server_name}/msgcare/MCSetLogin.asp identify the SQL login/password to be used by the messaging software.
Reboot the NT server.
Verification - If the Work Flow Manager is unable to access the database, it will present a pop-up dialog box on the server. The Work Flow Manager, once it has successfully accessed the database, will display, in its GUI, an entry indicating that is has started. This ready notification will be followed by product release information.
Configure the message system
To configure the messaging software, do the following:
If the ICM is not installed on the same server as the messaging software, change the WorkFlowMan.ICMAddr parameter of the parms.txt file (located in the install directory) to the IP address of the ICM server. Message Care services must be restarted after changing this parameter value.
Set your browser's caching options to refresh each time you visit a page. If your browser caches pages, a view of a page may not reflect the most recent updates.
To use the CentreVu Internet Solutions administration Web pages, you must perform one of the following configuration tasks:
If the messaging software and ICM software are co-resident (running on the same server), then follow the steps that follow.
If the messaging software and ICM software are not co-resident (running on different servers), then go to Step 4.
If the messaging software and ICM software are co-resident (running on the same server), then do the following:
Under the directory where ICM is installed (typically - C:\Program Files\Avaya\icm) create a new folder called msgcare .
Move the {install_directory}\MessageCare\temp\MCAdministration.htm file to the folder you just created (C:\Program Files\Avaya\icm\msgcare ). Go to Step 5.
If the messaging software and ICM software are not co-resident (not running on the same server), do the following:
In the C:\Program Files\Avaya\icm folder on the ICM server, create a folder called msgcare.
From the Message Care server, copy the {install_directory}\MessageCare\temp\MCAdministration.htm file to the C:\Program Files\Avaya\icm\msgcare folder you just created on the ICM server.
Edit the C:\Program Files\Avaya\icm\msgcare\MCAdministration.htm file on the ICM server to link to the Message Care Server.
Edit the second line of the file�()

Edit the C:\Program Files\Avaya\MessageCare\www\scripts\mc_agent.asp file located on the Message Care server.
Edit the following line�(

Edit the {install_directory}\MessageCare\www\icmadmin\MsgCareAdmin.asp file located on the Message Care server.
Edit the link to the System Administration page�System Administration Menu to the following line�System Administration Menu
Set up the Spell Checker by editing the following file: {install_directory}\MessageCare\www\scripts\spell.inc
Edit the SpellServer entries and the SpellPort entries.
The SpellServer entry identifies the IP address of the Spell Checker server software. At line six in the spell.inc file, replace mtpcs87-159.mt.lucent.com with your Message Care Server's Host name or address.
The SpellPort entry identifies the listening port of the spell server. This port must correspond to the port used in {install_directory}\MessageCare\bin\SpellServer\spellserver.bat entries.
Administer your message system
To administer your message system, refer to Administration.
Restart the system
After you have performed all post-installation procedures, restart your message system.
