    Result:

The Confirm Password dialog box appears.

  13. Enter the new password in the Confirm Password text box, and then click the OK button.

  14. For non US-English installations of the messaging software, perform the steps in Non US-English installations.

Non US-English installations

Important!

For non US-English installations, the default language for the msgcare SQL Server login needs to be changed to English. You must complete this before you can successfully archive message records. This is because the msgcare login created in localized SQL Server installations, by default, is associated with the localized language. This would cause the messaging archive program to fail due to the different date formats used in the various languages supported by the messaging software. To treat the date format in a consistent manner, the default language for the msgcare SQL Server login needs to be changed to English.

To treat the date format in a consistent manner, do the following:

  1. Open the SQL Server's Enterprise Manager, and then select English as the Default Language in the General tab for "msgcare."

  2. In the Security section of the specific SQL Server machine used, double click on the msgcare login.

  3. From the General tab for msgcare, select English as the default language.

Selecting English as the default language will also make the SQL Sever use English in its internal logging facilities instead of the localized language. This would help support/service personnel troubleshoot any SQL Server related problems.

NOTE: You can create a separate SQL Server login with the local language as default to access/monitor the SQL Server (other settings must be identical to msgcare login to view the message databases).
