Administration checklists

This topic contains Message Storage Server (MSS) administration checklists, which are designed to help the system administrator complete the necessary initial and ongoing administration tasks.

The tasks in the initial administration checklists need to be completed immediately after the server is installed. The tasks in the Ongoing administration and maintenance checklist need to be completed on a regular basis in order to keep the server operating properly.

The administration checklists are organized as follows:

Note: The tasks listed in the checklists assume that you know basic server commands and rules for navigation. This includes how to log in and out of the server, the difference between the vm and sa logins, Messaging command prompt screen function and usage, and how to move from field to field within a screen or web-based page. If you are not familiar with the basic operation of the server, read Accessing and using the MSS before you continue.
