This topic contains information about editing subscriber mailbox
and message sizes. If subscribers on your system use Email (Internet
Messaging) and send and receive many large messages, including email
messages with large attachments, you might want to increase subscribers'
mailbox and message sizes.
Before editing subscriber mailbox and message sizes, you need to
complete the initial planning, administration, and testing tasks
for Email (Internet Messaging). See Email
(Internet Messaging) for more information.
Note: The following procedure contains instructions
relating to only three fields on the Edit a Class-of-Service
page. For more information about the Edit a Class-of-service
page, see Editing a class-of-service.

To edit subscriber mailbox and message sizes

The system displays the Manage Classes-of-Service
page.
- Highlight the class-of-service for which
you want to edit mailbox and message sizes and then click Edit
the Selected COS.
The system displays the Edit a Class-of-Service page for the
specified class-off-service.
- Increase or decrease the sizes in the following fields as necessary:
- Maximum Mailbox Size
- Maximum Call Answer Message
- Maximum Voice Mail Message
Click a field name or Help for more information.
Also, see Planning for Email (Internet
Messaging) for other suggested values.
- When you finish editing maximum mailbox
and message size, click Save to save the information
in the system database.
All subscribers who belong to this class-of-service
are now enabled for email integration. Be sure that your subscribers
have sufficient training and instructional material to take full
advantage of this additional functionality. See Notifying
subscribers of email capability and setup for guidelines and
more information.
Note: If,
after time, you find that your system disk space is running
low, consider purchasing additional mailboxes or disk space.
As an alternative to purchasing more disk space, you might
consider reducing the number of days that messages are retained
in subscribers' mailboxes. To do so, change the Message Retention
Settings on the Edit Class-of-Service web-based administration
page. Make this change only after careful consideration, and
give subscribers advance notice to move their mail off the
server. POP3 and IMAP4 email users are used to having messages
remain in their mailboxes indefinitely. |

Click Return to Main to return to the Messaging Administration main
menu.
