The system warns you of potential administrative
problems by displaying an administrative alert message (Alarms: A)
on the Messaging command prompt screen's System status line when it
logs an administration event. Check the System status line at the
top of the Messaging command prompt screen at least once a day.
For the location of the System status line, see Screen
layout and function keys. If you observe such a message, access
the administrator's log to view current error messages and a description
for each problem.
Administrative events can include problems that you need to correct,
such as full subscriber mailboxes and undeliverable messages. These
problems directly affect message processing.
When you see Alarms: A on the administration status line, you
need to view the administrator's log.
To view the administrator's log to display a report:
- Start at the Messaging Administration main
menu and select:
Logs
Administrator's Log
The system displays the Administrator's Log page.
Note: You can also access the Administrator's Log
screen using the Messaging command prompt screen. To do this,
select Global Administration > Messaging Administration
and type display administrator's-log at the command
line. |
- Complete the fields on the page. For more information, click the field names or
Help on the web-based administration page.
- Click Display to view the log entries.
When the system gathers the information you specified, it displays
the report on this display-only page. For a description of the
fields, click Help.
- Examine the displayed events.
Events, alarms, and their associated repair procedures are described
in Alarms and Events.
- If a displayed event calls for repair, take whatever
corrective action is necessary.

Click Return to Main to return to the Messaging Administration main
menu.
