Changing local machine information

This task describes how to change the local machine profile. If you change the local machine profile, contact all remote network administrators and inform them of the changes.

To change the local machine profile:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select:
  2. Global Administration
         Messaging Administration

    The system displays the SSH User Authentication dialog box. Enter your login, for example, sa or vm, in the User name field and your password in the Password field. Click Login. The system then displays the Messaging command prompt screen.

  3. Enter change machine at the enter command prompt.
  4. The system displays the Local Machine Profile screen, page 1.

  5. Change the information on this screen as necessary. For information about the screen's fields, see the table for Field definitions: Local Machine Profile screen, page 1.
  6. Note: The Location and Voice ID fields are read-only and cannot be changed.

  7. When you finish entering information on this screen, press F7 (Next Page).
  8. The system displays Local Machine Profile screen, page 2.

  9. Complete the fields on this screen using the information provided in the table for Field definitions: Local Machine Profile screen, page 2.
  10. Note: See Managing remote subscribers for more information on remote updates.

  11. When you finish updating the local machine information, press F3 (Enter) to save the information in the system database.
  12. The cursor returns to the command line, and the system displays the following message:

    Command Successfully Completed.

  13. Enter another administrative command at the enter command prompt or click Return to Main.
