Adding a remote subscriber manually

Running a remote update can use one of your networking ports for quite some time. If you want to add a remote subscriber immediately but do not want to run a remote update, you can add that subscriber manually.

To add a remote subscriber manually:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select:
  2. Global Administration
         Subscriber Management

The system displays the Managing Subscribers page.

Note: If you are accessing the system through a dial-up connection and you have a large number of remote subscribers administered on your system, you might want to filter subscribers to reduce the number of subscribers that display on the Manage Remote Subscribers page. Doing this allows the page to download more quickly. See Sorting and filtering remote subscribers for information about filtering subscribers.

  3. Click Manage in the Remote Subscribers row for the specific remote system.

The system displays the Managing Remote Subscribers page for the specific remote system.

  4. Click Add a New Subscriber.

The system displays the Add Remote Subscriber page.

  5. Complete all the fields on the page as necessary. For more information, click the field names or Help.
  6. Click Save to add the remote subscriber.

The system saves the remote subscriber data and returns to the Manage Remote Subscribers page.

  7. If you want to add additional remote subscribers, return to Step 3. If you are finished adding remote subscribers, click Return to Main.
