This topic covers possible problems and recovery procedures during a server configuration.
Problem: On the Updating system files screen, the configuration messages simply stop.
Resolution:
If the display stops following the message "Restarting ethernet interfaces", you may have (intentionally or not) reconfigured the Ethernet interface that your browser is using to access the server.
See Accessing a reconfigured interface for steps to re-establish a server connection.
If you entered a faulty IP address for this interface, you'll have to connect to the active services interface and rerun the Configure Server wizard, correcting the bad IP address.
The display may stop if you lost the server connection for any number of reasons.
See Loss of server connection for steps to re-establish contact.
When contact is re-established, verify that the configuration ran correctly to completion (page through the Configure Server wizard screens).
If the Avaya media server crashes (due to a power loss or system malfunction) during a configuration update, the update process stops and the system might be left in an unstable state.
When the server is restored, run the Configure Server wizard again and verify all settings.
If any settings are incorrect, enter the correct values, then click Continue on the Update warning screen to run the configuration process again.
If you cannot access the server
in any way, you may have to use the Reset to
Defaults screen. Afterwards, log in through the services interface
and configure the server again.
