    9608 Call History

    Hello!

I had a user call me and tell me that she was having an issue where she received calls that were not showing up in her call history. After several tests we realized that if a call was making it to her voicemail, it would not register as a missed call (even if the caller hung up before her greeting finished playing). Basically, if the caller did not leave a message there was no way for her to know who called.

I did the same tests on my lab 9608 but could not find any settings that would allow for the call to appear in the history when rolling to voicemail.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?

I am on Aura 6.3 and our 9608 phones are H.323 if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Henry

    ## LOGUNSEEN specifies whether incoming calls that did not cause alerting will be logged
    ## as missed calls (e.g., calls that are forwarded because the phone is busy)

      Thanks for the info.

I see that I need to change the 0 to 1 in LOGUNSEEN but where do I find the 46xxsettings file to change it? I have searched through Avaya support but I can't figure out how to get to the file.

If you don't know what server is hosting the 46xx file you can look at the Network Information>IP Parameters in your IP phone menu and see what the HTTP server IP address is. You could also ask your network administrator for the DHCP scope options and see the file server address there.

The HTTP server could be a Windows machine, Avaya Utility Server or some other file server. If it's a Windows server, search for the file, make a copy when you find it, edit the original file, reboot a single phone so that it grabs the new setting(s) and do some tests to see if the call history works.

The utility server is pretty friendly and I like using it. You can find documentation on it but it's easy enough to figure out how to edit the settings without it.
