    Remove user & extension for IP Office 500

    Hello, we have IP Office 500 installed in our LAN and using IP Manager 9 to administrate the network phony system. Currently there is some configuration problems for a special user/extension ID (i.e. 8032) so we decide to remove this user and extension ID from IP Manager and added it again later.

    However, after removing this user ID and extension in IP Manager, this user seems still there as we called this extension (8032) and phone is still get through although no telephone ring (I can hear the dial tone and even voicemail reminding). We are using Avaya 9608 desktop phone by the way. I am not sure if there is something wrong with our operation. Does anybody has same situation before or how to correct this problem by removing and re-adding this extension successfully? Thanks in advance.

    Double check that your system doesn't have the auto-create extension and user options enabled. Avaya IP phones try to re-register with their last know identity so that would cause the extension and user to automatically reappear (you should really also clear the phone's own settings).

      Thank you very much for your help, Now it is fine. I am thinking I did not delete all configuration details.
