    Upgrade to IPO R9

In order to upgrade to Release 9, it is necessary to obtain the Upgrade License beforehand.

The process might take few days to complete and it is described in the following article:

It is possible to upgrade the system without the license but the system will not be operational and the user will be forced to downgrade

Yes, the license will need to be on the system, prior to upgrading.
If you upgrade without the license on the system, the upgrade will render the system inoperable until you put the license on, or downgrade to a release that you ARE licensed for.

NB. This is for IPOSS entitled customers only. Sadly, if you do not have IPOSS then you will need to get your upgrade done in the tradition way!
