    One-X Mobile and iPhone 6

    Hello All,

I am a new Avaya tech and have been taking the AIPS training courses to familiarize myself with IP Office but am stuck on an issue.

We have 2 IP Office Systems in our Office. One physical ip 500 v2 with a seperate application server. The second is virtual IPO for demo's located on my laptop in VMware Player, both are running 9.1. Both are setup and have basic functionality but I am not able to get mobile clients to connect to One-X. Whenever I open the App on the iphone and direct it to the server on port 8444 the app instantly closes. When I run the app on the android phone it says Login Failed : Server Credentials incorrect or server not available. The logs for the android device are pasted below. This has been tested on several iphones and a Samsung Galaxy. The Communicator and Softphone on windows desktops both connect to one-x fine and can make and take calls.

Setup tested on both separate systems: a valid user is created with a power user license and all of the passwords are generated. The certificate for one-x is emailed to the phone and installed. The user connects over wifi on the same subnet as the one-x server. The phone is setup with the correct IP, port 8444, and valid user info. I am unclear if port 8444 is correct because Avaya's documentation is atrocious in my opinion. I have also tried 8443, 5222, 9443, and the default 7777. All of which are referenced across the documentation.

I'm not sure where to go from here, this happens on both the physical and virtual server. I have checked the logs on the one-x server and there is nothing related to user logins. All of the services are started on the app server and the virtual server. The devices are connected over wireless and are on the same subnet as the servers. I can access the web interface from the mobile browsers so I know it can see the server. The android clients logs are below, they make no sense to me. It says login failure but also says Success?

I found myself in the same position about a month ago. I opened a ticket with Avaya and spend 8-10 hours working through various methods in out attempts to resolve.

We were getting a similar error as your trace shows, " handleData: readingFailedrotocol java.io.IOException: readBytes: EOF", and could not find a solution to that error.

After no progress I suggested pulling a backup of my Server Edition configuration and Voice Mail Pro, (not backing up the settings in One-X as that was where we were having trouble) and performing a fresh install.

It did work, and the customer has almost 4 weeks of problem free connectivity with their (15) One-X Mobile Preferred users, all of which are iPhone users.

We never did find the root issue, but it only took about 3 hours to pull the backups, perform the new install, and restore the backups.

A reasonable solution to this problem, eh? In fact, you can keep your ip office as is, and back up the voice mail pro portion of your application server and reformat/reinstall application server.

Thanks for the input. Again as I am new and still learning I have to ask, won't a reinstall of the Virtual IPO Server change my SID/PLDS and require me to move reissue licenses?

Are they using the One-x Mobile IPO app with their system? I am confused to which app in the app store is the correct one as well.

Avaya one-X Mobile Preferred for IP Office

is the right App you need to use with your iOS.

Can you post a screenshot of the settings w/in you app and also the settings in your onex portal?

I had similar issues on my first tries with the "Mobile Clients".

First make sure that you use the latest version of IP Office and all related applications.

Make sure you configured, use the right user name and not the extension number to login with your mobile client. Make sure you configured as well a Login Code for your extension.

I suppose as well that you use One-X Mobile for Preferred Edition?

Check if the right User profile is selected and the right options are checked?

Check if it works without "VoIP" activated on the client? If yes, configure IPO properly for remote extension.

Some points that help me out:

          A) Demo System on your Laptop
I suppose that you run IP Office Demo on your laptop?
If so, make sure you installed it in VMWare player via the ISO image and not via the OVA. If you install it via the ISO Image it should work without any issues and out of the Box.

          B) Application Server
I installed an architecture with an additional application server at a customer and it worked after I configured everything like mentioned in the IP Office Knowledgebase. make sure SIP Remote Extension is checked and properly configured on the IP Office.

You will find a good explication in the knowledgebase.
