- From the File menu, choose the Open command or click the Open button on the main toolbar.
- From the Edit menu, choose Insert to display the Goto/Insert Prompt dialog box.
- Enter a unique number for the prompt and click OK.
- Click in the Comment view and type the prompt text. Edit the text as you would with a word processor. You can use the Cut, Copy and Paste commands on the Edit menu.
Note:
To quickly change the audio device for recording customized prompts, right-click on the telephone or multimedia icon, and select 1 Multimedia, or 2 Telephone.

- From the Sound menu, choose Record or click
on the Voice Player.
- Record your prompt, as follows.
- If using local multimedia, begin speaking into the microphone.
- If using the telephone, pick up the receiver when the phone rings, and record the prompt after the tone.
- When you are finished, choose Stop from the Sound menu, or click
on the Voice Player.
- If you want to re-record the prompt, repeat Steps 7 through 10.
- Once you are satisfied with the recording, choose Save from the File menu or click the Save button on the main toolbar.
- If you want to record more prompts, repeat Steps 3 through 11.
Note:
When you have finished a recording or editing session, from the File menu, choose the Compact command. This removes unused space in the file that may be the result of some edit operations.
