System 75 XE to R8si (Blowback)

Connect TDM/LAN cables and ICC cables for PPN Upgrade [75 XE upgrade]

Use this procedure to route and connect the new WP-91716 L3 TDM/LAN cables between the System 75 XE port cabinets that are being reused.

1. Working from the rear of the cabinets, loosen the 2 screws on the left side of the connector-panel, and then remove the other 2 connector-panel screws.


2. Attach the TDM/LAN cable to the backplane, and slide the cable between the connector panel and the rear shelf.



Do not run the cable through the existing slot in the rear shelves.

3. Route the cable along the bottom of the cabinet.


4. Replace and tighten the connector-panel screws.


5. For a duplicated system, connect the ICC cables as shown in this table:

For the locations of the pin-field blocks, see ICC pin-field blocks on J58890L-1 L5 enhanced control cabinet or ICC pin-field blocks on J58890M-1 L5 or J58890M-2 L7 enhanced duplicated control cabinet.

6. On the A carrier, verify that the 982LS current limiter (CURL) is properly connected to the pin-field block marked CURL (see ICC pin-field blocks on J58890L-1 L5 enhanced control cabinet). The CURL's components should be on the left side as viewed from the rear.
