G3rV2/3/4 and R5/6/7/8r to R9r
Check the Currency of the Removable-Media Drive and MSSNET [R9r]
This task determines whether you need to upgrade the tape drive(s) and MSSNET(s).
For Systems having TN2211 Optical Drive(s) and UN332C MSSNET(s):
- Replace the original removable media in the TN2211 Optical Drive(s) with the new one(s) containing Release 9 software.
- Go to Verify software version [R9r].
For Standard Reliability:
Type list configuration control and press Enter. If the system has a TN1656 Tape Drive and a UN332B MSSNET, go to Tape Drive: Power Down the SPE [R9r].
For High or Critical Reliability:
Type list configuration control and press Enter. If both SPEs have a TN1656 Tape Drive and a UN332B MSSNET, go to Tape Drive: Lock the active SPE (High/Critical reliability only) [R9r].
