Installation information for Message Networking

For a first-time installation, perform the hardware and software activities in order. The system installation checklist provides links to the applicable procedures in the order in which they should be performed.

Note: If you are upgrading to Message Networking 1.0-31, use the procedure Upgrading to Message Networking 1.0-31.

Hardware activities

• Installation prerequisites
• Connecting peripheral devices (monitor, keyboard, modem)
• Connecting the analog-line interface cards (voice cards)
• Restoring power to a Message Networking system

Software activities

• Powering up the system
• Logging into the system from the console and checking the monitor display
• Checking the voice system, modem, and network addressing
• Install the switch connection software (required for analog systems)
• Performing initial system administration
• Performing acceptance tests

Software maintenance for existing systems
