Replacing the cover

The front bezel and top cover are removed for most maintenance procedures.

To replace the chassis cover:

  1. Orient the cover so the latch hook is in back, and the rail hooks face toward the rear of the machine. See Removing or replacing the cover.
  2. Set the top cover on the chassis so that it is aligned with the sides and slightly overhangs the front of the machine.
  3. Slide the cover toward the back of the machine until it is flush with the chassis.
  4. For a rack-mounted unit: Slide the machine back into the cabinet.
  5. Tighten the screw latch on the rear of the chassis to secure the top cover. See:
  6. Replace the bezel (plastic cover) on the front of the chassis. See Removing or replacing the front bezel.
    1. Insert the bottom of the bezel into the chassis.
    2. Push the bezel upright until the two upper tabs snap into place under the top cover.
  7. For a stackable (desktop) configuration: Replace any units that were stacked on top of this machine.
  8. Continue with Restoring power to the system.
