Logging on to one-X Portal on Citrix

After you log in to one-X Portal on Citrix, you may see the following message across the top of your Web browser:

This site might require software from 'Avaya Inc.'. Click here to install...

Do not click the message or install the applications. If you see this message, perform the steps in Configuring Internet Explorer for Citrix access.

Note

If you use one-X Portal on Citrix, do not install any supporting Windows applications on your computer, such as the Avaya Phone Interface and Avaya one-X Portal Message Recorder. If you install these applications, you may not be able to play your messages in one-X Portal.

  1. In your Web browser, type or select the Web page address of your one-X Portal.

By default, the Web page address is http://oneXportal_server.domain.com/1xp/portalclient, where oneXportal_server is the IP address or fully-qualified name and domain of the server that hosts one-X Portal.

For example, if the server is named oneXportal and the domain is xyzcorp.com, the Web page address for your one-X Portal is http://oneXportal.xyzcorp.com/1xp/portalclient.

  2. In the Logon window:
    1. Type your user name and password.
    2. If your company installed the one-X Portal language pack, accept the default or select another language for one-X Portal from the Language drop-down.
      Important

You can only run the one-X Portal Extensions in the same language as your operating system. If you change your default language for one-X Portal, and then log into the one-X Portal Extensions, one-X Portal may display in the same language as the one-X Portal Extensions. To avoid this issue, log into the one-X Portal Extensions first, then log into one-X Portal.

    3. Click the Log On button.
  3. If your system is administered to include a legal notice, review the contents of the notice carefully, then click:
    • I Agree to accept the terms and log in to one-X Portal.

    • I Disagree to end your session.

  4. If prompted, do not install the AvayaPhoneInterface.cab and Avaya1XPMsgRecorder.cab applications.
  5. If one-X Portal notifies you that your telephone settings are not complete, click OK in the notification message and continue with Configuring your initial settings.
  6. If you do not get a notification, in the Welcome window, select one of the following options from the drop down in the Place and receive calls using field:
    • Select the desired telephone number from the drop-down list.

    • Select Specify Other and add the new remote telephone number in the Specify Other Phone dialog box.

  7. If you selected Specify other mode, do one of the following:
    • Select the desired telephone number from the drop-down list.

    • Select Specify Other and add the new remote telephone number in the Specify Other Phone dialog box.

If the telephone number does not meet one of the following criteria, one-X Portal may not be able to forward calls to the telephone:

    • In North America, begin the telephone number with +1 and include the area code.

    • Include all numbers that you would dial from your office extension to reach the telephone number.

  8. If you selected This computer:
    1. In the Welcome window, click Click To Change Emergency Call Handling.
    2. In the Configure Emergency Call Handling window, check the Enable Emergency Call Handling option.
    3. If your computer is in your office, select Use my extension.
    4. If your computer is not in your office, select Use Other and add the telephone number for your location in the Specify Other Phone window.
    5. Click OK.
  9. In the Welcome window, click OK.

If you click Cancel, you will be prompted to log out of the one-X Portal.
