Configuring the automated attendant |
The automated attendant greets callers and instructs them on how to proceed through the system. If your PBX does not support Direct Inward Dial (DID), enabling the automated attendant is recommended. Using the automated attendant also makes it possible for you to use other call handling features, such as intercom paging and call screening.
Make sure you have done the following:
For more information on recording customized prompts using Visual Voice Editor, see Custom Prompts.
You can configure the following automated attendant properties for the voice mail domain.
Use this tab to configure the Automated Attendant Main Menu Prompt. The main menu helps callers to navigate through the telephone user interface by prompting them on how to proceed.
See Attendant Main Menu Editor properties - auto attendant.
Use this tab to configure the automated attendant holiday prompts. You can set up alternate prompts to be played on specific dates, for example, when the office is closed for a public holiday.
See Holiday properties - auto attendant.
Use this tab to configure the Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Closed prompts.
