You must remove the front bezel and top cover to access the internal
components.
Caution!
The chassis cover protects the internal components. When you
remove the cover, damage from electrostatic discharge is possible.
For more information, see Protecting
against ESD damage.

To remove the cover:
- Shut down the server and remove the AC
power cords.
- For a stackable (desktop) configuration, remove any units
stacked on top of the server you must access.
- Remove the bezel (plastic cover) on the front of the chassis.
See figure Removing or replacing the front
bezel.
- Press down on the two tabs on the top of the bezel.
- Tilt the bezel forward, and then lift it out.
- Loosen the screw latch for the top cover located on the back
of the chassis. See figure Removing or replacing
the cover.
- For a rack-mount setup, slide the server forward.
Note: You might need to unplug some cables at the back
of the server to get sufficient cable slack. Label all cables
so you can easily reconnect them. See figure Messaging
Application Server (back view).
- Slide the top cover towards the front of the server to release
it, and then lift the cover off the chassis.
- The internal components are now accessible. See figure Messaging Application Server (internal
view).
Caution!
For some procedures, you might need to remove the server from
the rails. Ensure that you have a clear work area before you
remove the server. For safety considerations, get another
person to assist you with lifting the server.
