A collection of report templates is included with the CNA system.
Once you have the CNA system operations (e.g., established a BGP peering relationship between the device and one or more edge routers) and allowed sufficient time to build up some measurement data, you can view these reports simply by opening them.
You can then use these reports as starting points for your own custom reports, either by modeling your query definitions on them or by modifying the template reports themselves and saving them under a different name.
If you delete one or more templates and later want to recover any of the default query definitions, you can obtain the templates from the directory /pub/CNA/templates on the Avaya FTP/HTTP document server. See the Support section at http://www.avaya.com for information about FTP/HTTP document retrieval.
Templates were constructed using the Type and Data lists in the Trend Definition dialog. See the section Trends in Chapter 4: The CNA Web interface for information about using the Trend Definition dialog. See the individual trend report descriptions in this chapter for definitions of the graphs generated by the Type and Data list entries.

The Bandwidth templates are based on data obtained by the link-usage polling process for the most recent five-hour and five-day periods.
See Chapter 4: Polling Routers of the CNA Advanced Monitoring Guide.
If you have not enabled link-usage polling, there will be no data available for plotting graphs, and an error message will be displayed if you attempt to view one of them.
The template report contains two sets of graphs: the first set consists of four graphs that show the inbound and outbound data rates for all links. The two inbound graphs are showing the same data, but with different trend options selected (line graph, not stacked vs. stacked area graph). Inbound charts usage of your service provider links based on incoming bytes; Outbound charts usage based on outgoing bytes.
The second set shows a separate graph for inbound and outbound data rates for each configured service provider link.
The Billing Template contains a graph for each of your configured links over the past one year period, plotting monthly billing estimates. You cannot generate a billing report until at least one billing-period start date has passed following the entry of usage data into the CNA configuration. See the usage-reporting billing-period command.
This trend report contains a data rate chart (bits per second) for each link that shows the activity in each tier, and a chart showing the costs of each link.
The Billing Tier Template shows similar data, but that chart spans the current two months instead of the year.
The Billing Projected Bandwidth Template shows an estimate for the bandwidth you will use for the rest of the billing period. The data gathered for the days from the beginning of the billing period to the current day is to extrapolate for the remaining days. The “Bandwidth-Minimum” line shows the minimum data rate you can expect at the end of the billing period (it can easily go higher from here, but will not be lower).
The Control Panel trend report template contains a trend graph showing the most recent five hours of data for each of the graphs displayed on the Graph Panel at the top. See Chapter 4: The CNA Web interface for information about these graphs.
The Executive Summary Template report is intended to provide a high-level overview of the CNA system’s impact on your network. This report is based on the same data that is used to generate the Executive Summary Report snapshot report.
Graphs show results over the most recent five-day period for the following:
The ISP Comparison trend report template compares performance of your configured links over the most recent five-day period.
Graphs display following data, using data selections from the Link type report:
The Link trend report template consists of three graphs summarizing activity on each of your configured links over the most recent five-day period. Graphs contain the following data selections from the Link type report:
The graphs in the Measurements trend report template show data on measurements, the CNA system’s decision-making load, and a breakdown of prefixes showing how many of them are in each CNA-defined category. For a definition of categories, see Prefixes in Chapter 3: Adaptive Path Control of the CNA Adaptive Path Controller Guide.
Graphs included in the template are:
The Medic templates consist of graphs charting system resource usage for the most recent five-hour and five-day periods.
For information about system resources, see Medic Services in Appendix A: Diagnostics of the CNA Appendices Guide.
Graphs in the Performance Summary trend report template provide a detailed look at how well the CNA system has performed over the most recent two-day period. This report is similar to the Web Speedup report template, except that it is much more detailed.
The Live Prefix trend report templates contain a collection of graphs which show performance-related trends for a specific prefix (you will be asked to select one before the report opens) over the most recent eight-hour period, using live-sampled data obtained at 30-second intervals rather than hourly averages taken from the snapshot database.
Graphs in this report show the following information:
The Prefix VoIP trend report charts the following set of variables for a specific prefix over the last (8) hours for each link:
The Web SpeedupTemplate report is intended to provide a high-level overview of the CNA system’s impact on your Web application performance. This report is based on the same data that is used to generate the Web Speedup Report snapshot report.
Graphs show results over the most recent five-day period for the following:
Poor and very poor performance, as well as performance benchmarks indicating improvement, are all defined by user-configurable criteria; see the snapshot report description for details.
The Web Speedup BGP Template trend report works like the Web Speedup Template, but instead of comparing link performance to the poorest-performing link, the comparison is done against the BGP-chosen link. In many cases, the numbers will be very similar, especially in networks with a small number of service provider links, but these can diverge depending on network conditions.
