Upgrades for R9 Made Easy
You need the following minimum required hardware to upgrade to Release 9si software.

| 1 If you are shipped a J58890AH-2, L12 MCC processor carrier, you need the TN2401/TN2400 assembly (848254942). Look at the label on the middle of the carrier's backplane to check the code and list number. Check the table to determine whether you need the TN2401/TN2400 assembly |

The cards are thicker than the old translation cards; they have more memory. The old translation cards are read-only in the new processor. |

Type display system-parameters customer-options and press Enter. Go to the Maximum IP Registrations by Product ID screen (last screen) and write down the number listed in the IP_Soft field. The number must be verified at the end of the upgrade. |
For customers having IP softphones only. The maximum number of registered IP softphones may default to 1 after an upgrade. Note the number BEFORE the upgrade. |

Administer IP softphones within Administer customer options [R9si] |
For R8 to R9 only and customers having IP softphones, go to the System Parameters Customer-Options, Maximum IP Registrations by Product ID screen (last screen) and verify that the number listed in the IP_Soft field did not default to 1. If it did, get the number from field technician and type it in. |
For customers having IP softphones only. The maximum number of registered IP softphones must match the pre-upgrade number. |
